Why we exist

ShowBacon is built on an old truth from live events: morale is a force multiplier. Gear breaks, trucks run late, cues change, clients pivot, weather laughs at your schedule… but a crew with momentum can still make it look easy.

In industry lore, “ShowBacon” was the start of a good show day. If there was ShowBacon, the crew walked in a little more awake, a little more together, and a lot more ready. Not because bacon is magic—because somebody bothered to set a tone.

That’s what we do. We set the tone.

The lore, made official

“ShowBacon” isn’t just food. It’s a signal:

  • We planned.

  • We respect the crew.

  • We’re here to win the day, not survive it.

  • We notice the human side of a hard job.

And yes—organizationally, it started as an “artificial” and “cheap” motivator. That’s not an insult. That’s good producing. Small inputs, huge outputs. A tiny budget line that buys focus, patience, and teamwork before the first case even pops.

Our culture in one sentence

We build high-performance shows by treating people like the point—not the expense.

Our values

1) Respect the work

We take pride in craft. We do it right, we do it safe, and we do it clean. We don’t cut corners that put people or shows at risk.

2) Crew-first doesn’t mean standards-last

We support people and we keep the bar high. Kindness and accountability live in the same room here.

3) Calm is contagious

We don’t spread panic. We solve. We communicate clearly, we escalate early, and we protect the show flow.

4) Be the reason the day gets easier

If you see a problem, own it or route it. If you can help, help. If you’re slammed, say so. Heroes are cool, but reliable teammates are cooler.

5) No ego on comms

We speak professionally—especially under pressure. We correct without disrespect. We don’t “win” arguments; we win shows.

The ShowBacon Standard

“ShowBacon” can be literal or symbolic, but it must be real in practice. It means we intentionally invest in morale and readiness.

Examples of what counts as ShowBacon:

  • Coffee + breakfast / water stations actually stocked

  • A clean, workable setup plan and realistic call times

  • Clear roles, clean comms, and a no-surprises load-in

  • A quick pre-shift huddle: priorities, safety notes, weather, changes

  • Music low in the morning, energy up when it matters

  • Shout-outs for good work in the moment, not two weeks later

What doesn’t count:

  • Treats used to “buy” silence about unsafe conditions

  • Fake positivity while schedules are unreasonable

  • Perks replacing planning

ShowBacon is not bribery. It’s a strategy: care + competence = momentum.

How we show up

Onsite behaviors we expect

  • Be early enough to be useful, not early enough to be bitter.

  • Ask before assuming. Confirm before moving.

  • Protect departments: don’t dump problems downhill.

  • Keep the workspace clean; chaos costs time.

  • Speak up on safety. Always.

Leadership behaviors we expect

  • Set expectations, then remove blockers.

  • Praise in public, correct in private (unless safety requires immediate correction).

  • Don’t hoard info—brief the team early and often.

  • Don’t ask for miracles as a substitute for planning.

Budget philosophy: small line items, big outcomes

We treat morale as an operational tool, not fluff. “Artificial and cheap motivators” like ShowBacon are legitimate because they reliably improve:

  • punctuality and readiness

  • cooperation across departments

  • patience during inevitable pivots

  • the crew’s belief that leadership has their back

It’s a tiny investment that protects the biggest investment: labor time and show quality.

The promise

When someone says “This is a ShowBacon crew,” it should mean:

  • the day runs tighter

  • the vibe stays professional

  • the work is safe

  • the crew feels respected

  • the show looks expensive—even when the budget isn’t

Because the audience never sees ShowBacon… they just see the magic we support.
